Connemara.
Oughterard (the village McGeough’s shop is in) is known as
the gateway to Connemara. Connemara lies in the territory of
Iar Connacht, "West Connacht", which is the portion of
County Galway west of Lough Corrib. The land is rugged and
beautiful and still has a thriving Gaelic culture. This page has
